Who we are
Rule the World (ruletheworld.live) is run by , . Contact: . By buying a reign you agree to these terms.
What you're buying
For $1 (USD, including any sales tax or VAT) your chosen name, message, champion and capital city are shown as the current ruler of the world on this website, until another person makes the same purchase. The "conquest" on the map, the titles, records and videos are visual effects only. It is a novelty, entertainment-only digital service. You must be 18 or over, or have a parent's or guardian's permission, to buy.
How you pay
Payment is taken by Onelink, a Stripe company, which sells your purchase to you as merchant of record: it handles the payment, your receipt, any sales tax or VAT (already included in the $1 price) and payment-related support. Your card statement shows "ONELINK*" followed by our name. We provide the service itself: showing your name as ruler of the world.
The siege
Your reign does not start the moment you pay. First a siege runs against the current ruler: it lasts one minute, and the current ruler can extend it by up to three more minutes by defending. You may also have to wait in line if another siege is already under way. When your siege ends you always become ruler โ the current ruler can delay you, never stop you. If nobody rules when you pay, you are crowned straight away.
No prize
There is no prize, reward, money or anything of value to be won, and this is not a game of chance. How long your reign lasts depends only on when someone else buys one: it is not guaranteed and may last seconds or years.
Your right to cancel
You normally have 14 days to cancel a contract for a service bought online (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Before paying, you ask us to start your siege straight away and confirm that you understand you lose this right once the service has been fully provided โ that is, when your siege ends and you are crowned. If you want to cancel before that, email us: we'll refund you, less a fair amount for the part of the service already provided. You can also simply close the payment window before paying.
Refunds and problems
Being overthrown, however quickly, is how the service works and is not a reason for a refund. If your payment went through but you were never crowned once your siege ended, or something else went wrong on our side, email us and we'll put it right or refund you. You can also contact Onelink's support (link.com) about the payment itself. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights, for example if the service is not provided with reasonable care and skill.
Complaints
Email with your ruler's name and the date you paid. We aim to reply within 14 days.
Your name and message
You choose what is shown, and it is public. Use a nickname rather than your full real name, and don't include anyone else's personal information. Not allowed: hate speech, harassment, slurs, sexual content, impersonating real people, links or advertising. We may hide a name or message that breaks these rules; as the service has already been provided, there is no refund if we do.
Names and messages are checked automatically before you pay, using a word list and an AI moderation service; if yours is refused you won't be charged.
Reporting and online safety
Anyone can report a ruler's name or message with the "Report this name" link on the site, or by emailing . We check every report and hide anything illegal or against these rules as soon as we can. The person responsible for safety on this site is .
You let us show your name, message, champion and city on this site, and in the pictures, videos and posts it makes about reigns (for example the share cards, the rise-and-fall film, and posts on Discord or X), for as long as the site keeps its history. You can ask us to hide them at any time.
The site
We try to keep the site running, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change how it looks and works. We may close the site one day; the display of any reign would then end.
Our responsibility to you
If we don't provide the service as described, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that, up to the price you paid. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. We don't exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in the courts of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there.
